Healing Hearts, Supporting Lives.
Empowering Those Facing Unexpected Loss.

Life Interrupted Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping families, children, and individuals move forward after the sudden loss of a loved one. We provide direct financial assistance through emergency grants and children's scholarships, easing the burden that comes when tragedy strikes without warning.

Because we know that financial relief is only part of what a grieving family needs, we partner with trusted organizations to connect families with wraparound support — including emotional, informational, and other resources beyond what we provide directly. Our goal is to ensure that no family or child is left to navigate the aftermath of sudden loss alone, whether through the grants we fund ourselves or the network of partners we connect them to.

Our Mission

About

Our Programs

Life Interrupted Foundation provides financial to support families and children navigating the sudden loss of a loved one through two main programs: Compassion in Crisis Grants and Legacy of Love Scholarships. We currently have two funding cycles per year: July and December.

Together, these two programs reflect what we believe families need most after sudden loss: relief in the present, and hope for what's ahead. And because we know loss touches far more than a family's finances, we've partnered with trusted organizations to provide wraparound resources and support, so families have access to exactly what they need to move forward, beyond financial assistance alone.

Essential Needs Grant

Children's Scholarships

When a sudden loss upends a family's finances, the basics can't wait. Our Essential Needs Grant provides up to $2,500 to help cover the immediate, non-negotiable costs that pile up in the weeks after a loss — funeral expenses, rent or mortgage payments, utilities, groceries, and other essential bills. This grant is designed to be a bridge, giving families breathing room to grieve without the added weight of financial free-fall. Award amounts are determined case-by-case based on need, and the maximum amount is not guaranteed.

For children who've lost a parent or guardian, we believe their future shouldn't be limited by circumstances outside their control. Our Children's Scholarship provides up to $500, deposited directly into a 529 college savings account, to help build a foundation for their education down the road. Families are encouraged to have an active 529 account ready at the time of application so funds can be deposited quickly if awarded.

Our Impact

Since our launch in June 2024, Life Interrupted Foundation has made a profound impact, touching thousands of lives across the country... and this is just the beginning of our journey.

Our Story

Life Interrupted was established in 2023 after our founder experienced profound loss just weeks before her wedding, when her fiancé passed away unexpectedly. She was left with responsibilities she didn’t understand and no idea what to do next — and when she searched for answers, she couldn’t find them. So she built this nonprofit instead.

What she learned is that life goes on after loss. After the first few weeks, most people’s lives continue — but for the families left behind, life stops. We never want a family or child to be left wondering what to do, or without the resources to move forward. That’s why we provide emergency grants and scholarships: because we know what a sudden loss does to a family’s world, and we’re determined to help rebuild it.
